From May 24th 9 cycle hire docks will open on campus. Operated by West Midlands Cycle Hire they are app-driven and designed for short-term hops to another dock in the city.
Predictably the University is less than enthusiastic – in its staff mailing it encourages users to wear a helmet and hi-viz. We’re talking about journeys like the A38 cycle route – meant to make cycling a normal activity. Will we ever get away from the mindset that cycling isn’t normal and needs special clothes?
